About Us

THE EMBASSY

The Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in China was established on 20 August 2007. The Maldivian National Flag was hoisted at the Embassy for the first time by the Former Head of Mission and the first Ambassador of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Latheef on Friday, 31 August 2007. His Excellency Mr. Latheef completed his term and returned back to Maldives on Friday, 30 March 2012.

On Sunday, 27 May 2012, Ambassador-at-Large His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Rasheed was appointed as Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy.
